Designed by a nurse, for better IV practice.
Yewtwist was designed in Canada by Maria Plummer, a registered nurse with years of experience in pediatric and adult oncology.
The same problem, every shift.
In her years as a registered nurse in pediatric and adult oncology, Maria watched nurses struggle with the same stuck IV and feeding connections, shift after shift.
Nurses reached for forceps, tourniquets and gloves to get a grip. Lines cracked, and nurses’ hands and wrists took the strain.
So Maria worked with an engineering team to design something better: a light, simple tool with soft jaws that loosens tight connections without damaging the line. Yewtwist was designed in Canada and is now used in hospitals, clinics and homes in 11 countries.
