More than 30 years ago, Gerry was diagnosed with short bowel syndrome. He has infused his parenteral nutrition more than 7,000 times.

He is a retired aircraft maintenance engineer with repetitive strain injuries in his hands and wrists. As an older patient with arthritic pain, he finds the twisting motion of each infusion difficult.

**Read the instructions for use.** Yewtwist is a nonsterile hand tool for disconnecting IV, dialysis and feeding connections. See the instructions for use for directions, warnings, cleaning and replacement.

**Single patient use.** Dedicate one Yewtwist to each patient for the full course of their therapy. Clean it before and after each use, and replace it when the jaws show wear or on the schedule in the instructions for use.

Statements about infection risk refer to the situations that raise it, such as damaged lines, improvised tools and hand contact at the open end of the line. Yewtwist has not been shown to reduce infection rates.
